Media Gets It Wrong Again

Today my husband and I turned on the television and watched the story regarding the US Air jet that made an emergency landing in the Hudson river. My husband happens to be a commercial airline pilot so this type of news always hits close to home and is followed closely. First and foremost it is no small feat that the airplane landed intact and everyone survived. Passengers and crew truly have a great deal to be thankful for. While listening to various experts and news anchors relay the developing story one important fact continued to be overlooked and irritated my husband quite a bit.

New Custom Tool

I know the blog has been quiet the last couple of weeks. With the holidays and other web development I have had my hands full. One new project is an interactive map that displays highways, cities, counties, zip codes, and marta all on one map of Atlanta. I suspect the zip code portion will be the most viewed portion right now. I have more plans for it to include a possible crime map overlay, city limits, and even school district information. Markets Have You Shell Shocked?

With all of the volatility we have witnessed in the past several months in the stock market, housing markets, energy costs, and jobs situation I am starting to think that everyone is getting somewhat used to it. Hearing references to the Great Depression and other calamitous predictions has begun to make me somewhat numb to the news. I don't flinch anymore when I hear the stock market shed 300 points or some dire predictions by Paulson.
